About Us

In 2010, Love Thy Neighbor began with a Kitchen Program in the Salvation Army building in Lewisville. Volunteers managed the purchasing, preparation, cooking and serving of hot and nutritious meals five days a week, Soon LTN was feeding 100 clients a day, with to-go sacks provided to another 30.

Between our opening day November 1, 2010 and the closing of the kitchen due to COVID, we provided over 108,000 meals and distributed over 10,000 to-go bags.

Now our Food Program supports the meal program in the new Salvation Army location. We also support local pantries by providing the items they need most.

In 2013, Love Thy Neighbor added the Clothing Program. 40,000 items of clothing were provided each year to families, working poor and homeless in need of clothing were assisted by Personal Shoppers by appointment at the Salvation Army until COVID restrictions began.

In 2022, LTN partnered with New Beginnings Church to open a new Clothing Closet in their building.

Love Thy Baby became part of Love Thy Neighbor at the start of 2015, providing blankets and clothing to newborns born in medical and/or financial need.

Before then, LTB had been a local chapter of Newborns in Need for 15 years. LTB volunteers sew, quilt, knit and crochet blankets, quilts, hats, booties, tote bags and other items. 40-50,000 items are provided each year through the hospitals and agencies we support.

Love Thy Pet was formed in 2016. We receive donations of upholstery weight fabric that can’t be used for the babies. We also make a ton of scraps when we quilt and tear flannel. One volunteer was putting them together to make dog beds for Operation Kindness. Now we donate close to 1,000 pet beds annually to many area shelters and rescue groups
